Do You need help after a commercial fire?

Fire & SMOKE Restoration For Commercial Properties

If your building experienced a fire, we’re here to help. Commercial fires pose the most hazards of any restoration project. Toxic soot & smoke, unknown structural integrity, contaminated standing water, unknown chemical contamination, & microbial growth are just some of the immediate dangers following a fire. Quick action helps to lessen the chance of secondary damage setting in, and that’s why American Restoration Solutions provides virtual and on-site assessments 24/7. Always call a qualified mitigation expert to assess and begin the fire remediation process. Even if the damage is limited to one room, its still imperative to call a professional to assess the situation ASAP. Trapped moisture in wall coverings, under flooring & in contents can lead to mold growth and structural rot while toxic smoke particles circulate throughout the premises. The longer those particles linger, the harder it will be to remove the odor of smoke.

Frequently Asked Commercial Fire DAMAGE Questions

  • When fire damage occurs in your business, certain immediate steps must be taken:

    - In most jurisdictions, the property must be boarded up or otherwise secured to prevent any openings being used for unauthorized access to the building.

    - The Fire Marshall may or may not allow anyone to re-enter the premises until a structural assessment has taken place and/or the cause/origin investigation is complete.

    - If able to access the structure, avoid touching or moving contents. Photograph everything to document the scene for insurance purposes while wearing a respirator.

DO NOT attempt to clean up on your own. Consult with a fire mitigation expert like ARS before proceeding.

  • Restoration, in the simplest terms, is catch-all phrase to describe all the processes & procedures for returning your property to a pre-loss condition. Professional restoration companies follow guidelines established by the IICRC, an independent association that publishes research and best practices to providers and adjusters alike. American Restoration Solutions employs IICRC-certified project managers & technicians to guarantee the quality of your restoration project. We provide all facets of restoration under one roof, from fire mitigation, water extraction & dry cleaning to dry outs & rebuilds. One Call, Complete Recovery.

  • Every loss is different, but even small fires can produce strong odors and generate fine soot throughout a property. Some non-porous surfaces can be cleaned & disinfected, while others should be removed because soot contamination is toxic may become trapped or etch the surfaces of porous surfaces. Our IICRC-certified PMs will advise what steps are needed to properly restore your property and keep tenants and employees safe & healthy.

  • Water and/or other chemicals are used to douse a fire. If not dried quickly, water also fuels microbial growth (aka mold), mildew, bacteria, and other harmful contaminants. Water can also cause structural rot and pose electrocution hazards. Smoke exposure to an adjacent property can cause discoloration, odors, and debris that also require restoration even though it was not directly impacted by fire. These are examples of secondary damages caused by fire. Trust American Restoration Solutions to clean up quickly, completely, and correctly.

  • No! Depending on the size of the loss, it may not make sense to file an insurance claim. Factors like claims history, deductible, coverage & your ability to pay all factor into whether it makes sense to file a claim. We provide competitive pricing and low or no-cost assessments for losses without a claim or denied clams.

  • Regardless of insurance coverage, American Restoration Solutions is here to help. Virtually all instances of fire damage are covered, unless specifically excluded in your policy. If you have questions about your policy & coverage, we suggest speaking with us, your broker, or a pubic adjuster.

  • Typically remediation begins as soon as the Fire Marshall has cleared the building and/or a structural engineer has given the go ahead. Soot cleaning is the first priority, along with standing water extraction. After that, contents will be sorted as salvageable or unsalvageable. Salvageable contents are moved into an unaffected area or into storage & all demolition debris has been removed. The industry standard drying time is 3-5 days. Once the structure is clean and dry, encapsulation and odor mitigation take place to make the space ready for repairs. If hazardous materials such as mold or asbestos appear to be present or local jurisdictions require approvals first, it may add to the amount of time before work can start. Our goal is always to get your business back together as quickly as possible.
